Why is the Nunes Memo Important?
If you attempt an organic search to discover the facts about the Nunes memo, you will never find it. There is an enormous effort to suppress the facts about the memo and the implications for what it describes. An example of the Internet bias that is designed to marginalize the memo is the description on Wikipedia. The hastily constructed Nunes Memo page on Wikipedia cites a few dozen sources for the information it employs. Unfortunately, nearly all the sources include CNN, MSNBC, The New York Times and Business Insider. A study of the content created by the sources, since President Trump was a candidate, found that 96% of their reporting was negative.
This is not happenstance.
Why would the Wikipedia article about the Nunes Memo be considered authoritative if it relies on sources that are hostile towards the President? It is impossible.
A thinking person, who can remove themselves from their political beliefs, or their hatred of the president, will realize that information based on these sources is tainted or biased. It should go without saying, but reading the Wikipedia article leads the reader to believe that the memo is something nefarious or misleading. That perception would not only be wrong but 180 degrees opposite of its importance and relevance.
The Importance of the Nunes Memo
This is why the Nunes memo is very important to every citizen of the United States, every person who cares about justice or our most important institutions and every person who opposes abuse of power, unethical behavior in government or deceiving the public.
Here is a good way to frame the importance of the Nunes memo in your mind if you are not a fan of the president. It is also a good way to understand how this impacts all Americans if you simply hate the president and supported his opponent.
Imagine if you just learned that President Trump’s team had gone to a British spy, with connections to the Kremlin, and asked the Russians to provide dirty laundry on Hillary Clinton. Now, imagine that the information provided, in the form of a dossier, was mostly erroneous, of little validity and spurious in nature. Despite this, imagine that the Trump campaign was able to use the Department of Justice and the FBI to intervene and proceed with an investigation of Hillary based on the dossier information.
Now, using this erroneous information, imagine that the Trump people, using the FBI, were in a position to go to a FISA judge and persuade the judge to grant a FISA warrant to spy on Hillary’s campaign. They could then gather covert information that would help his campaign and beat Hillary. If you found out that this happened, how would you feel? You would be angry; extremely angry.
The FBI and Department of Justice were used for Nefarious Purposes
It does little good to ask; “what if the roles were reversed” these days, but the question has to be asked and thought about. Your anger would not only be about the underhanded and unethical means by which the opposition went about weaponizing the most important institutions of our country, but also what it means for the rule of law, the Constitution, the abuse of power and the sanctity of our election process.
If you really care about America and her most cherished institutions, then you have to be bothered by what the memo exposes.
Also, you have to ask yourself; why were the FBI and the Democratic Party so vehemently opposed to the release of the memo. (which was released today) The Democrats have already created an enormous smear campaign, promoted heavily through the media, spinning the reality of the significance of the memo in many ways. They claim that this is all conjured up by the Trump administration to deflect attention from the Russia collusion investigation. Never mind that in 15 months of multiple investigations, there has not been one grain of evidence supporting any collusion between the presidents team and the Russians. (four people charged with process crimes that had nothing to do with proof of collusion)
What the memo exposes is disastrous to the Democrats and those in senior positions in the Obama DOJ and the FBI. It proves real collusion between these parties to dethrone the Trump campaign and to lie to a FISA judge to obtain a warrant to spy on a political opposition candidate.
When all you hear is oft-repeated information from sources like CNN, MSNBC, the New York Times and others who are trying to bring down the president, then you become somewhat brainwashed into a narrative that the nefarious activity is on the president’s side.
The Nunes memo is important because it presents evidence that Hillary Clinton’s campaign, with help from the Obama administration, in collusion with people in the Department of Justice and FBI, who didn’t want Donald Trump to win the election, actually found a way to spy on the Trump campaign to win the election. They never imagined that Trump would win, so they had no apprehensions about going ahead with their plan because it could so easily be swept under the rug once Hillary was elected president.
But, that is not the way it turned out.
If the Roles were Reversed, there would be National Outrage
If the roles were indeed reversed, and you are a Hillary Clinton supporter or someone who hates the president, you have to imagine your outrage just the same. As an American, who respects and depends on the rule of law and the workings of our election process and the oversights that are in place, you have to understand that you should be outraged because of what we learn from the memo. It doesn’t matter who the plaintiff and defendant are in this case; there was still a terrible miscarriage of justice done. It occurred and the evidence is compelling.
Worse yet, you won’t find the facts about the memo on the Internet. Search results, sites like Wikipedia or CNN or most other sources, are written by people who don’t like the president and don’t like the Republican Party. You can’t even turn on the news and get the facts. It is like living in the former Soviet Union or China or North Korea. The information about the Nunes memo is carefully controlled, manipulated and spun to seem like something it is not.
The reality is this; a travesty of justice did occur. It was perpetrated by the Hillary Clinton campaign paying for a fictitious dossier, which was then used as the basis for a FISA warrant to spy on the candidate of the opposition party. A FISA judge was lied to in the process.
If you care about the truth, then consider how important the Nunes memo actually is.
