Donald J. Trump – greatest president in modern times
Does that title make you cringe? Is it more than cringe-worthy in your world? Do you think the author must live in an information bubble? How can anyone believe that Donald Trump is a great president? You believe he is an unmitigated disaster.
Does that about sum it up for you?
What is it that you don’t like about Trump? He is brash, maybe vulgar and un-presidential? He is a racist or a homophobe or he is making our allies not like us? He has separated migrant kids from their parents and that is simply cruel? Is there more?
Speaking Out for America
In recent days, the president has been meeting with our NATO allies. He has been blunt and direct. He has accused Germany of having a backroom deal with Russia to supply natural gas, cutting the U.S. out of one of our exports and providing Putin with billions of dollars.
But wait, if Trump is trying to make life hard on Putin, then doesn’t that fly in the face of the Russia collusion hypothesis? For many years, the other NATO countries and the U.S. had a deal that the U.S. would spend 4% of it’s GDP on the military and the other countries would spend 2% of their GDP on their militaries and somehow the U.S. has been stuck with 70% of the bill. After all, if the U.S. is spending more and the other countries are spending much less, isn’t this about the value that the U.S. taxpayer gets?
If a U.S. president confronts our allies because we are the ones getting cheated and our allies are making backroom deals with Russia, isn’t the president just acting as an advocate for the American people? Is that wrong? Do we put Germany’s and Russia’s backroom deal, in which Germany imports billions of dollars worth of natural gas from Russia, ahead of the interests of the American people?
Referring to an Actual Study
About 10 years ago, the U.S. Border Patrol’s own study found that about one in five people who came across the U.S./Mexico border illegally had a criminal record in Mexico. During the 2016 presidential campaign, the president stated that some of the people coming over the border from Mexico had a criminal record. He was stating a fact from the earlier study. Did this make him racist? Making a statement about members of an ethnic group is not racism by the way.
And, on that topic, is the president actually racist? He has never stated a blatantly racist remark publicly. When the late African-American poet, Maya Angelou turned 80, the president and Oprah Winfrey threw a surprise birthday party for Angelou at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida in 2008. In 1986, Donald Trump received the Ellis Island Medal of Honor for “patriotism, tolerance, brotherhood and diversity.” Does that sound like a racist?
Every country in the world has certain sovereign rights. That includes having control over who enters or exits their country and knowing who is entering or exiting their country. Is there reason to believe that the United States is the only country on earth without this right? Most of the illegal drugs, which enslave those with substance abuse addictions in the U.S., come over the border with Mexico. Most of those drugs are manufactured in Mexico and the illicit money benefits the Mexican cartels. Why doesn’t the U.S. have the right to stop this illegal flow of dangerous drugs which kills Americans and enslaves them in a life of addiction? A wall is the only option.
Enriching all Americans
By returning billions of dollars to America that corporations held in other countries because of our high tax rates, the president created an environment where hundreds of companies gave their employees raises or bonuses. By reducing burdensome regulations on companies, hiring increased and wages have increased. This benefits all Americans, not just a select few or people in one sub-group. Black and Hispanic unemployment are at historic lows and female unemployment is the lowest since the 1970s.
What exactly is the president doing wrong?
Advocate for ALL Americans
He is standing up and advocating for all Americans, he is helping all Americans by raising wages and returning the U.S. to “full employment.” He has decreased the taxes on more than 90% of Americans. Taxes for 2018 will be lower and the child tax credit has been doubled. This all benefits the middle class. This isn’t a president who is attempting to benefit the rich. As his kids have said, he relates best to regular, working class people.
He has taken steps to end the threat of war on the Korean peninsula and is working to end the threat to America and several of our allies from North Korea. That benefits all Americans.
If you believe you hate President Trump, it may have more to do with hearing and watching non-stop fake news account of the “facts.” Unfortunately, these are misleading and erroneous facts perpetrated by people who hate the president for winning the election and they are determined to brainwash as many Americans as possible.
The truth is that Donald Trump is not just another establishment politician. He went to Washington to end business as usual. That is the business that never benefits the American people. He is there to represent the American people and advocate for us. There is nothing to hate about that. Right?
